I rent an entire house with my fiance, and with the rent prices in Calgary being ridiculously high, we have rented out our basement suite to friends. Basically, they`re housemates who help pay the rent. Well, our current tenant is leaving at the end of this month, and none of our friends/acquaintances are in need of housing right now. So, I have put an ad on Craigslist and UsedCalgary.com, advertising the basement suite. I have never done anything like this before; I don`t know what I can/can`t do, what my rights are, what I can state in a lease agreement.
