Has anyone succeeded in doing this or would the costs be too high to even consider? How would the costs compare to setting up a Limited Partnership which probably runs around $30,000? Seems it might be a good way to raise capital by selling shares vs finding jv investors since you are using the open market. Most of what i see on the TSX are REITs. I have a few contacts who write up new companies for the Pink Sheets in the U.S. I believe the costs were around $10,000 plus they took a position in whatever company they wrote up with you giving them shares as well.

Listing costs

Theres a link to the TMX website and listing of all the costs... and the costs appear to be quite considerable even if the direct listing fee itself isn`t to bad the accounting and legal costs are quite startling...

I would be curious to know how the ongoing and upfront costs compare with traditional lending though...

indeed ... and you have to realize you are now running TWO businesses: the main operating business .. and the one trying to influence he stock price .. distinct from the main business .. as often a disconnect exists between the "real" world and the "virtual" stock market world !
