Hi,
I am in the process of getting quotes for my renovations. I have been contacted by a REIN member who does renovations in his own properties. He is experienced but is not a full time contractor and as such is not licensed and is not insured.
I know that I would be liable for his safety - re: insurance, WCB, etc. Should I avoid using him for this reason alone? Have others used unlicensed contractors? Are there other precautions that I could take to make this feasible?
Thanks,
Matt
P.S. If you are licensed contractor looking to do some bathroom and kitchen work - please drop me a private message! =)
