Although it shouldn't, it continues to amaze me at the power of perception.

Vancouver market either holding steady http://bit.ly/adlOmA or dropping sharply http://bit.ly/aEX0x9 depends on perspective and agendas.

The above two articles appeared on the same day. No wonder so many Canadians are confused. That is why it is SO important to get the actual facts behind the headlines. in fact, for the July BC REIN Workshop we have been able to get one of Canada's chief housing economist, Carl Gomez, to take time out of his busy schedule to give us the facts behind his latest findings on the real estate market. He has no hidden agenda, doesn't care if you buy a piece of real estate or not, so he can play his cards fully at this event.

Carl Gomez was one of the key analysts who created the critical Housing Affordability Index, designed to take the emotions out of market analysis. This is a chance to ask him questions directly, hear his latest findings for what is coming over the next years in Canadian real estate... and what we need to watch out for. (some of this presentation can't be recorded due to the sensitivity of the information).

This is the one REIN Workshop that guests can buy a guest pass for (last year's version with Benjamin Tal was packed). Members, and those looking to attend can follow this link for a lot more details:

REIN Members, a great way to kick off the summer conversation. Pre-register your potential JV partners or family Members so they can get their questions answered as well.

To add to Don`s point about the power of perception, here is a BNN interview with Brian Ripley, CEO, Oakes Ripley & Associates. It was brought to my attention through Twitter earlier this morning.

His take is that prices and overall sales are dropping drastically in Canada`s most major markets (Vancouver and Toronto particularly). This video was live on BNN yesterday and it is quite incredible to see how opinions differ between certain individual news sources.

Check out the full video for yourself and let us know what you think.

And get ou there and enjoy this sunshine!
