My name is Russell McNair and I have read Don Campell`s books. I am not a member yet but have been looking at joining and taking the Quick Start Program.
Presently, I live in Toronto however I am looking at relocating to Winnipeg shortly. I plan to be out in Winnipeg within the next month to learn about the real estate market out there and to possible purchase a property or two. Of course I am a newbie at the rental market but was a lender (loans and mortgages) for years.
I was wondering:
1) How the REIN members in Winnipeg find the support network? Do you get together and hold meetings or is it a close group that call each other when they need?
2) Are the REIN member mail members or full member and what your opion is about the different memberships?
3) If anyone would like to go for a coffee (of course my treat) while I`m in Winnipeg that has properties in this area?
4) Name of a realtor that has experience with rental properties or even better that understands the REIN method?
This last one maybe a long shot!
I was looking at single family residence and thought why not put a seperate basement apartment in and increase the cash flow. My concern is the zoning R1 (single family) does anyone know if you can put a basement apartment in legally? Or do you have to find R2 zoned (2family) properties? After all, anything worth doing is worth doing right (legally).
