    Tenant Dispute

IF there is a noise problem , could it just be that: a) the noise transmission is a real issue and a legitimate concern for any tenant, so 3-4 month lease is going to solve anything, I feel. b) Some people are more tolerable than others I have these noise issues before, so I insulated with...

Can you go through the layers of insurance to protect the you [the public]?" Does RECA actaually compensate you, or do they just make a ruling and let you do the collections on your own and at your own expense. Kir.

Just a side point, CMHC produces a lot of research on the side as well, which has a benefit. For instance I was downloading an article on neigborhood design and how the design influences traffic or foot traffic. These sort of articles are great!! Kir.

mortgage renewals -as of Sep 2012

Has the rules for mortgage renewals change recently, where the 25 year amortization is the only option? I just did one with Scotia, and the term has to be 25 years. Previously, it was 40 years for me. I thought the amortization would be grandfathered, or stay the same. Kir.

    Illegal Lease Clauses (Ontario)

I find this interesting and useful. Still, I would put in some clauses and if the tenant agrees, then who is going to object? IF two parties agree (landlord and tenant) to "no smoking"...then later the tenant smokes, does the landlord have to proof that smoking will cause harm and...

    Help with mold!

If you need another advice, try Advance Remediation. If you have been told there is no health issue for the basement folks, then it might just be a easy clean up job. If this is the case, I wonder why you would need the contain the air. Personally, I would get to the bottom of the water...

    Help with mold!

Can I ask who did your environment assessment? and what was the assessment? air testing , sampling, or visual? Was Alberta Health Services involved? -Usually if the sq. footage is extensive, the guidelines call for remediation and that is the most expensive option. -If you can do the...

    mould remediation

According to the restoration company, they required samples to be tested for absestos before cutting into the drywall. The house was constructed in 1958. This is going to be an expensive lesson. Cash flow for this year is largely gone. Kir.

Does anybody have any experience with mould removal? I had an inspection done recently, there is some mould on bedroom ceilings (2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom). However, the extent is unknown until they take samples. They did a thermal imaging and saw something. The work done by the...
