This particular project took a little longer than usual because we were filming "Buyer's Bootcamp" with Scott McGillivray at the time that we began this renovation. So this one took about 3 month total, but there no reason why a renovation like this shouldn't be completed in about 8-10 weeks.

I use 5/8" thick drywall on my basement ceilings because they are always accessory apartments and it does a better job of soundproofing than regular 1/2" drywall. Also it has a better fire separation rating, although it's not required by Ontario Building Code.
