“One Trillion Dollars”
Well just how much is one trillion dollars?
It depends where you live.

In the American system one billion is 1,000,000,000 and a trillion is 1,000,000,000,000 so one trillion is one thousand times one billion.

In the British system one billion is 1,000,000,000,000 and one trillion is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 so one trillion is one million times one billion.

So if the world economies are going to work together to pull themselves out of this financial crisis shouldn’t they agree on what One Trillion Dollars really is?

Good thing our tenants agree with us that $1 = $1 and if we charge a $1000 they will pay us $1000 !!

Is this true? If so, do you have a reference on where you found this info so I can show people?

I have to give the credit to my mother who pointed this out to me. It was a topic of conversation on the accounting forum she uses.

I googled it and got an abundance of hits. I took the info from the University of Regina's math web site.

Wow, this is life changing. I had no idea that this could even exist.

I am worried that I am going to find out that 1 = 1000 in the UK.

I am actually in London right now and am going to ask some locals about this.
