Hello everyone

I have a signed contract for an "Agreement for sale" no conditions. My lawyer will not complete the deal unless the seller gets Independent Legal advice. It looks like the deal is going to fall through as the sellers lawyer has told her it is not a correct was of selling and not to do it. How do we get around this? I think this will be a common problem and want to address it before it happens again. Please help.

Thanks

Hi Jody, would love to answer the question but can`t cause I don`t know what those lawyers are thinking. Sounds like your lawyer`s view that seller needs independent legal advice has already been taken care of, that is , the seller has talked to his lawyer and that lawyer doesn`t like it. Agreements for sale have a long traditon in AB even tho they have been out of use. Try for more details and post again.

Cheers
