I will admit it - I don`t have much of a political mind, however my thinking was that a win by the Conservatives would be good from a RE investing point of view for no other reason than a change in government would lead to more uncertainty and instability for awhile. Now I read in the Calgary Herald that many oil patch companies are very concerned with the landslide win by the Conservatives. After reading that, I admit I don`t know what would have been the most favorable outcome for RE investors in Alberta. Just wondering what others are thinking about the outcome and how it affects RE investing.

It`ll be good news. They`re interested in stable growth, not quite as break-neck as before. Both the RTA changes and the Royalty Review were policies to that end.

Do you have a link to the article in the Herald?

I just listened to the Feb. Rein meeting CD`s where Don said to be "smart with your vote, please". He didn`t elaborate, but I am guessing a Conservative win is a good thing. I`m surprised there weren`t more posts to your question, but IMO the election results turned out well for investors.

The one thing I constantly hear from my accountant is to never vote NDP. The reason being that their economic policies have been proven to be in effective. Rent controls are one excellent example.

I had thought of posting some articles regarding the election but felt it best if Don covered this at the meetings.

Hi,

Anything that brings stability or predictability to a market helps provide confidence and therefore should prove to be a strong motivator for the economy.
