Hello everyone and a happy new year to all.

Seeking advice from people who owns investment properties in Ottawa, Nepean, or Kanata. (Nepean and Kanata are part of greater Ottawa)

Don mentioned that Ottawa (currently #6) is one of the top 10 investments towns in 2009-2014, question is what is he`s basis for choosing Ottawa? If there is a similar topic in this forum, I apologize for asking the same question and please re-direct or send me the link to that topic.

Is it a really good investment in buying rental properties in Kanata, Nepean, and main Ottawa?

Im more than happy to hear any success stories from an Ottawa investor.

I feel that house prices in Ottawa are at its peak, however, these prices are nothing compared to that of Vancouver or Toronto. I probably shouldnt compare Ottawa to Toronto since Ottawa is still a developing town. Then again, what do you guys think? How do you feel about 2010?

I bought several of Don`s books and was inspired by the success stories . Im really interested in joining REIN, unfortunately there are no meetings in Ottawa. (If there is, again, please let me know)...

Good luck to all real estate investor this new year

It may be helpful to purchase the REIN best Ontario towns to invest in book to determine the basis for the rankings. There are also lots of excellent resources through CMHC, Royal Bank reports, Royal Lepage and so on that will help you understand the market.

What I have found in Ottawa is that cashflowing properties are difficult to find, so you have to do that extra 10% that Don talks about in his books.

While REIN is not in Ottawa, you may wish to check out the Ottawa Real Estate Investors Organization at www.oreio.org
They have lots of resources there and many of the members are also REIN members.
