New home sales are suffering their biggest price drop since 2008, but the media insists that all is okay with the housing market's recovery because for some reason they are now focused on the volume of sales instead of sales prices.
They have shifted their focus to whatever is the more positive data point, making it much easier to label them biased.
With final numbers coming in from the NWMLS for July home sales, it looks like July was the strongest month we've seen in years. A total of 3,168 houses and condos were sold in King County last month, marking a 19.9 percent gain over the same month in 2012.
Waterfront improvements help boost an already booming Seattle
SEATTLE ` Seattle's commercial-property market, one of the nation's hottest, is getting a boost from a 7,000- ton tunnel-boring machine nicknamed Bertha.
The world's largest tunnel driller last week began work on a 1.7-mile (2.5-kilometer) underground freeway along the city's downtown waterfront, the centerpiece of a $3 billion redevelopment plan that will bring new parks and public areas, along with residential and commercial developments.
The number of Americans seeking unemployment benefits dropped 15,000 last week to a seasonally adjusted 320,000, the fewest since October 2007 ` a sign of dwindling layoffs and steady if modest job growth.
The Labor Department said Thursday that the less volatile four-week average fell 4,000 to 332,000, the fewest since November 2007 and the fifth straight decline.

Crude-by-rail terminal planned for Texas City, Texas
NEW YORK, Aug 20 (Reuters) - Galveston Bay Rail Terminal LLC, a private firm held by U.S. Development Group, plans to build a crude oil and condensate rail terminal in Texas City, Texas, according to permit requests it filed with the Texas Commision on Environmental Quality last year.
The terminal will receive rail cars loaded with crude oil and condensates and transfer them to a nearby pipeline, according to the permit applications.
Americans are in a buying mood, thanks largely to the housing recovery.
The latest sign emerged Tuesday as the Standard & Poor`s Case-Shiller home price index posted the biggest gains in seven years. Housing prices rose in every one of the 20 cities tracked, continuing a trend that began three months ago. Similar strength has appeared in new and existing home sales and in building permits, as rising home prices are encouraging construction firms to accelerate building and hiring.
