Saskatchewan economy OK for now
It must seem a little curious to outsiders that Saskatchewan's economy has continued to roll steadily along for the past few months, despite slumping oil prices, increasing talk of a national recession and this week's roller-coaster ride on the stockmarkets.
Even as other provinces face major budget worries - particularly neighbouring Alberta - Saskatchewan seems to be taking it more or less in stride: ¦ Lowest unemployment rate in the nation for 22 consecutive months? Check. ¦ Highest job vacancy rate in Canada? Check.
