Hi there,
Can someone refer me to a reputable basement leak specialist or contractor in Hamilton?
We purchased a 1970's semi on the W. Mountain with concrete block
foundation a few weeks ago. We had the electric updated, & the
electrician noted that some of the metal casings for the outlets in the
finished basement were totally disintegrating from rust. We haven't
noticed any leakage yet, but will open up some of the finished walls to
check.
We had a rep from Pioneer Basement Waterproofing take a look, & he
suggested that the window wells are not draining properly, however I
don't feel totally confident in his diagnosis. The property lies lower
than the neighbouring house, & I know that proper grading is also an
issue. We have moved the downspout so that water flows away from the
house.
We'd like to get it solved before tenants move in & avoid future
issues, but on the other hand, we don't want to spend $$ unnecessarily.
