What is better: beef or fish ? Cheese or salami ? Pizza or spaghetti ? Vegan or sausage ? Eggs scrambled or sunny side up ?
Toronto and Mississauga are huge places with ugly and pretty neighborhoods. Mississauga is generally far cheaper for a comparable house or condo, closer to the airport and closer to destinations west and north, but further from entertainment centers, beaches, nightlife and major trendy shopping centers, i.e. it is not as cosmopolitan, urban or chic.
Why not make a list of the ideal location then start shopping: parks, road noise, your own yard, schools, access to trains, distance to highways, views, shopping, restaurants, nightlife etc are all considerations that differ from person to person - given a certain budget and life style preferences.
For $700,000 say, some folks prefer a house with a large yard in Mississauga and others a 1BR condo with a view an elevator ride away from nightlife, shopping and eateries in downtown Toronto. List what is relevant to you, say on a scale of 1-10 per item, and then rank a particular property on that scale.
