Declining Canadian House Prices

From my perspective it is actually unfortunate, to some degree, that Canada did not tank.
I have plenty of associates that were waiting like vultures to swoop down on the dying.
Too bad really it would have been a great opportunity for investors well positioned with cash
to make a killing.
I know that sounds perverse but I am only thinking like a investor waiting for opportunity to knock.
Imagine if we could buy rental properties for $20,000 or less, like some areas of the states, and get rents of
$600 to $800 per month. Imagine your retirement fund when you sell in 20 - 30 years.

I couldn`t agree more with you. Just to add on topic, it has been around 94% sales to listing ratio in Edmonton last week. It will be interesting to EREB report on prices for June.

give it time, the same stuff was being said about the US as late as 07, look where they are now..RE prices are out of wack compared to income..debt has become a huge burden..I know people who cant leave their house because of household debt..eventually this will hit very hard. Wishfull thinkers are always optimistic, their word should be taken with a grain of salt.

Lets see where interest rates are 3 years from now before jumping to any conclusions either way.
I`d bet most likely scenario is that 5 years from now market is up marginally higher than today - 10% ? -
