Downtown `Deadmonton` no more - An insider`s take on Edmonton

QUOTE (DragonflyProperties @ Nov 2 2008, 03:31 PM) Hi all,

An article from the November 1st edition of the Globe and Mail (Travel). Excerpt:

For years, only tumbleweeds stuck around Edmonton`s central core after office hours. But the oil and gas boom has brought big bucks and a creative surge to the area — transforming 104 Street into a hub for locals serious about play.

I agree. There`s so much more potential in downtown Edmonton. I read on a local forum about the revitalization plan for 104 st (between Jasper and 104 ave). It`s nice to see Icon starting with their second phase. Then on 105 st and 104 av, there`s The Quest, another luxurious style high-rise condo.

Then d/t is also working on the east side (east of 97 st). The initial plan has been developed, called The Quarters
. So that`s a great news for d/t.
