In The Province, one of the major daily newspapers in Vancouver and BC, there is a weekly column in the Sunday edition (Homes section) called "Condo Smarts" written by the Executive Director of the Condominium Home Owners Association of BC. The format is question (by readers) and answer (by the ED). I have had the opportunity to correspond with Tony in my role as the Treasurer of our self-managed townhouse complex and I think that it would be fair to say that he has seen it all.
The column this past Sunday (see link below) was called, "Never leap into rental pool. Read Carefully: Details of contract are where you`ll earn or lose money." In this particular case, the writer purchased five rental-pool townhomes in a resort complex in Parksville (Vancouver Island) in 2002 and things haven`t worked out quite as planned.
