Early Termination Procedure

I m living with my company colleague, a week ago he told me that he needs to go without any notice, how should I handle my roommate leaving with 4 months left on the lease?

You need to provide more details of the housing arrangement, lease etc.

Depends upon a number of factors. Which names are on the lease? Are you both official tenants or is one of you a tenant and the other an "occupant" or "roommate"?

Bottom line is you are likely responsible for paying the entire rent. Talk to your landlord and work on finding a new roommate.

If you are on the lease (either with or without him on it) then you are responsible regardless of what he does. If you are not on the lease, then you must talk to your landlord as you may be an "unauthorized occupant" after your roommate leaves.
