Hi All,

I have a 12 unit building that has a efflorescence problem (white crystalline or powdery deposit) on the bricks. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and I am looking for suggestions on cleaning this up. Thanks in advance. Claude

It is caused by water wicking through the bricks/mortar carrying dissolved salts.
It can often easily be scrubbed off with water and a stiff brush.
It will likely recurr until the source of moisture is removed.

A little TSP (Trisodium Phosphate) water & a brush works well.
