Hardwood laminate in the kitchen?

For aesthetics and continuity, I am considering installing laminate for the whole house, excluding the bathroom. I do not spend much time in kitchen so I`m ignorant of how this would go over. Are there any practical problems that would arise from this?

If water gets on laminate it must be wiped up immediately or it soaks into the seams and expands causing it to buckle. I would not recommend it in kitchen or bath for that reason although I have heard of a new type with a green backing that is more water resistant but have no first hand knowledge..

Do not install in any areas that may get wet,.. It will buckle and look like garbage in no time. That being said there is more water resistant laminate available, but I wouldn`t recommend for a rental as you can`t guarantee the tenant would wipe up spills right away

Go with lino, or tile - You`ll be much better off long-term!

Laminate flooring has no place in a kitchen or bathroom. I`d even go so far to say that real hardwood also has no place in these rooms.

I would go with tile or vinyl flooring. Tile is the best option for me.
The green core in laminate DOES NOT mean it is water proof or water resistant. Water resistant? what does that mean? There is likely no warranty associated with this line.
There is only 1 product that I know of that works well in all situations, its from Torlys.
