Anyone know what the recommended (or required by law) interval between fire alarm equipment inspections is? I spoke with some companies who do this and they recommended monthly inspections, but they're of course biased - the more frequently they inspect, the more they charge!

This is for a 3 storey building in Hamilton, Ontario, and the equipment I'm referring to are fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, pull stations etc

Thanks

Sumit

Here are a couple of links to the Ontario Fire Marshall's website.

The advice I was given was to make sure you have your documents in order. These are two critical forms you need to update at least annually or every six months when we do the time change from daylight savings to/from standard.

Be consistent and document everything you do. You want it in your possession if the fire marshall asks for it.
