May 2014 housing starts in Regina
REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN`(Marketwired ` June 9, 2014) - Housing starts in the Regina Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) were trending at 1,993 units in May compared to 1,840 in April, according to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). The trend is a six month moving average of the monthly seasonally adjusted annual rates (SAAR)[sup]1[/sup] of total housing starts.
`The trend in total housing starts rose in May for the first time this year. After a slow start to 2014, multi-family home builders responded in May with the highest monthly production since October of last year,` said Goodson Mwale, CMHC`s Senior Market Analyst for Saskatchewan.
