I have been working with Gord Nevin in the Junction, which is a great place to invest (hint hint). We found a great property with some issues that needed to be addressed and fixed up. The price and the location were great, although there was one major issue…7,000 lbs of garbage in the home.
As I am a Contractor I called some colleges to find some help with this issue. After a few calls I was given the phone number of a gentleman named Larry. Larry finds scrap metal and then cashes it is for profit, and he was more then happy to do this work with his friend Rupert at the investment property.
Larry and Rupert did a great job at getting rid of all the garbage. I hired Rupert on to clean the site as a General Laborer. Rupert was very happy to be hired as no else had given him a chance. He is a 63 year old man and lives in a rooming house. At first glance and based on appearance one would probably judge him to be homeless and not much of a worker, but after seeing him work and his dedication to the job it was evident that Rupert would be an asset to the company. Rupert has been continuing to work hard and he now wears the company uniform. At first, he did not want to wear it as it was nice and new, and he did not want to ruin it.
There is a gift to many people when it comes to working and in our case investing in Real Estate. From our point of view we love it and we work toward our Belize. To Rupert it not only puts food on the table and pays his bills, but it has built his self confidence and he has made some contacts and relationships.

Success comes from many different venues; it is not always about profit in terms of monetary gains. If feels really good to help out and give someone a chance at success as well.
