Purely out of curiousity- what are you specifics on lot size all about?
jon
I wanted this functionality for two reasons. The first is to graph lot size versus list price for a given neighbourhood/area, and add a line of best fit. If I generate the graph holding house size constant, and have a big enough sample size, the slope of that line would have units of dollars/square foot of lot. Then I could use that data to establish a land value for my new purchases, and assign the rest of the purchase price to the building for tax purposes (depreciation).
I would also use that data to search for listings that are outside the normal range (outliers on the graph). Then I'd investigate the outliers, looking for situations where lots could be easily subdivided ( maybe even without removing the house) or had zoning to allow for multi-family plus a large lot size per $. Basically, it'd be a tool to allow for finding properties that aren't at their highest and best use.
I appreciate Mike's comments. Obviously a search showing 50x130 wouldn't be very helpful to me, but I may get my realtor to search by acreage That assumes fractional acreage is possible since I'm looking at city lots. (Anything bigger than about 0.15 acres would be a big lot in the areas I'm thinking of)

Michael
