Anybody from BC care to share their love of / frustrations with REIN to assist me in deciding whether or not to take the plunge and commit to at least 17 months? I imagine the bulk of members are east of here (if only because they`d be pretty wet if they were west of here) and Vancouver is certainly one of the most expensive housing markets in the country, so I`m keen to hear what the Western Members think of this esteemed organization.

Thanks for your time,
James

define "Vancouver" !

GVRD or Lower Mainland has plenty of upside and cash-flow with 20-30% down, i.e. places like: Burnaby, New Westminster, Surrey, Abbotsford, Maple Ridge, ...

Also: V. Island and Sunshine Coast are places to consider !

As the English poet, Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806-1861) said, "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways."

REIN, here are some of the ways:

1. Us Vancouver area real estate investors buy properties not only in BC but also in Alberta and beyond. REIN gives us research so we know where to invest and systems so we know how to invest. For myself, I now have more confidence I`ll invest well the next time I buy a property. I`ve owned 12 properties so far.

2. Through participating here in the REIN forum and talking to REIN members at local REIN meetings and conferences, you meet a network of real estate investors who`ve invested in many places in many ways. They`re eager to help you and encourage you so you learn faster what to do and what not to do and celebrate your triumphs together.

3. If you want to build your net worth through joint ventures, where you attract investors to buy properties with you, REIN is the place to be. REIN gives you lots of very valuable information on how to do JVs well. Many REIN members have been very successful in building their real estate holdings through JVs and are generous in offering their advice to you.

4. Through REIN I found a very good bookkeeper who`s saved me stress and money.

5. Through REIN, I renegotiated one mortgage to give me better cash flow. I`m switching another mortgage to one with better terms for the long run.

6. Through REIN, I`ve faced some personal issues like the big, fat lies I`ve been telling myself and am making progress on getting past these issues.

7. I know what property management companies I`ll interview when I buy a property in Edmonton and what realtor I`d deal with in Ft. St. John.

8. I`ve met, supported and been supported by some wonderful people, learned an awful lot and had fun!

That`s why I wish I`d signed back on with REIN when it restarted in Vancouver. That`s why I`ve just renewed my REIN membership for another 17 months.

See you at the Vancouver REIN meetings,
Margaret

I think regardless of the location, it`s the networking and being able to share ideas with everyone from the novice investor to the experienced. A wide range of people to come to. I`ve seen many and been a part of a few. This one is not always trying to sell me something or any pyramid schemes or anything.

That`s my two cents. Much success on whatever you decide!

It`s a great organization, and if you`re serious about R/E Investing, you`re going to be very pleased with your decision to join.
