Good article.

Note that US still has to import 4-10 million barrel/day, about the size of Alberta's capacity. Hence the desire for the pipelines to diversify exports.

Note also the very modest decline of not even 15% in oil prices even with maximum capacity expansion. And Obama, greens and socialists will ensure maximum capacity is slowed down or comes at enormous costs.

The bigger story is actually natural gas and it's export potential as gas prices in Asia and Europe are triple to quadruple those in N-America.

Just curious!

How long would it take to convert what can be converted to natural gas from conventional oil, i.e. cars, trucks, busses etc?

I am considering converting my car to natural gas for about $2000. Possibly doing it next month.

I know very little about the production of oil or natural gas, but I saw this: http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/en/t_boone_pickens_let_s_transform_energy_with_natural_gas.html

and it got me thinking.

What kind of car do you drive that can be converted with only 2000.00?

Are you sure it's not 20,000?

Not to hijack this thread but the conversion is pretty simple mechanically. You need a tank and to re rig the intake system. We had a pick up converted to duel propane/gas when I was a teenager in the eighties.

$2000 to $4000 sounds about right. The fuel savings easily pays for it. But you need to think about where you can get fuel.
