Likely someone has died or is very old and/or mentally infirm to make his own decision, thus a power of attorney kicks in.
There is the possibility of getting a good price, but like any real estate purchase, do you DD (due diligence) to ascertain if the price makes sense given the property's qualities, renovation requirements, financing ability, location, rental potential or upside.
