Property Management of Vacation Rentals

Hello,

I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction to property management regulations in Alberta. I've skimmed the real estate act but could not find much pertaining to my situation.

Essentially we are looking at a property management company start up with individuals who are experienced but do not have property management certification. Can a property management company be started without a certified property manager in place?

I've came across some rules pertaining to situations where PM's have to be certified (ie, collection of money, negotiating, if not hired directly by the owner etc...) but the rest is grey area to me.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

As far I know, they are licensed by RECA . The Real Estate Council of Alberta.

That is correct. In Alberta they would be licenses with The Real Estate Council. Here are some helpful posts on this subject:
