Relocation Specialist?

Our questions are what to do when they have no credit history in Canada.? They`d been trying to find a house to rent in Orillia for months but kept getting turned down because they have no credit or references in Canada. I heard about them through the housing resource centre and was reluctant to take them, but ultimately I did. They paid three months rent in advance in addition to last month`s rent. It was paid by electronic bank transfer before they even arrived in the country. I emailed them the lease and they signed it, scanned it in and emailed it back.
They turned out to be great tenants. Perhaps that is in part because they are new to the laws and regs of Canada and don`t want to rock the boat and haven`t figured out how to work the system. Starting with a clean slate is good motivation to keeping it clean, I suppose.

If AMEX is sponsoring them that`s a pretty good vote for continued employment, and thus being able to pay the rent. Do they have info on their history from Venezuela?

He can supply us with his prof. engineer certificate, his references for his employment, show us his 3 year work permit on his passport. I just talked to him again and he`s going to be making more than $100,000. a year. Looking more and more like we found our renter

I take in Toyota executives from Japan. I did not do credit checks or ask for references and they have been no real problem. My only advice is try to get Amex to sign up for the lease. Toyota will not sign up for employee leases but Cannon in Mississauga will. If you can get it, it is a little more assurance. If not don`t wreck your deal over it.
