Please paint me a scenario where this would make sense to me?

We may not be able to paint that picture for you personally, as you are not a Tenant Buyer. Here's an example for the purposes of your "Scenario". Place yourself in the shoes of a divorced spouse who has lost their home in which they lived in for x amount of years, they never feel at home while renting again. Some of them come to us with a burning desire to own again, which translates into "I don't want to wait". One family called me 4 times after I initially declined their RTO application and I had to decline them each time again, as they weren't ready......point is, their "Desire". The only thing you may be missing here is... your logic is outweighed by their desire. Are you wrong, probably not!
