Basement apartments are generally difficult to rent. Jeff Reed from Priority Management Ltd is both an experienced contractor and real estate investor. Interesting, thanks for sharing that. It's always good to see different reno styles and what is working for other people. The video mentioned getting $1200/month for a basement apartment that is approximately 300 sq ft done in a loft style. What would a similar suite rent for if nicely rented more conventionally?

For a size of approximately 300 square feet, you are looking at about $1000/month. It attracts a different tenant profile. Quality finishes are very important as well as the layout of the space. Open concept is very popular and in demand.

Rental demand for quality suites has increased in the Toronto Beaches lately and this basement apartment has a good chance to attract even more rent if advertised and staged properly.
