Howdy REIN Members,After an exciting October we jump into November with both feet. Guest speakers have been lined up, the "What`s Behind The Curtain" research is charging ahead as well as some other surprises coming your way in November. Here`s a quick update on dates and subjects across the country. Please read all 4 points.
(Just a reminder, these are closed door meetings for REIN Members only)
#1 Because it is getting close to the Annual Awards evening in December, it is important to report your properties to Sonya at the office. Whether you purchased one or 20+ this year, please ensure that you use the "17-3 Property" Form (click here for a copy) to send in your properties. There are many awards to be `won` including (in each region): "Rookie of the Year", "Player of the Year", "Top 10 Regional Players" plus the 17-3 awards. In addition, you can nominate potential winners for the following:
Regional Leader of the Year
Regional Renovator of the Year (you can nominate yourself for this one)
Please send these nominations to [email protected] (they will be kept in confidence) Don`t post them here.
Deadline for your property and nomination submissions Thursday November 22nd at noon Mountain Time. Submit all properties that will close by December 31, 2007
#2 Alberta REIN Workshops. Edmonton Nov 13th, Calgary November 14th. 6:30pm start. The Truth on Taxes for real estate investors. A critical topic that will clearly outline the difference between getting taxed as a Capital Gain vs Business Income (a massive difference in how much you keep). Our Guest speaker, George Dube will get into great detail on what is real and what is just `urban myth.` Did you know that it doesn`t really matter how LONG you own the property... it can still be deemed `business inventory` if you don`t know the rules. In addition he will be sharing the latest tax court rulings on what you can legally write off and what you can`t. A REAL eye-opener. (some of this may not be able to be audio-taped)
#3 Ontario REIN Workshop - Toronto November 20th 7:00pm start. A jam-packed workshop designed with the Ontario real estate market in mind. Don Campbell will be going into great detail on the economics of key regions, Russell Westcott will be jumping into his updated "Maximizing Cash Flow in the Ontario Market" presentation (you`ll love what this does to your bottom line) then Don will be following up on last month`s Workshop with the updated REIN Power Paperwork system designed to assit you in running your investments like a business - decreasing your time and increasing your bottom line.
#4 BC REIN Workshop - Vancouver November 22nd, 7:00pm start. Just confirmed - Best-Selling Author of the Law of Attraction, Michael Losier, will be presenting his 2 hour in-depth "Law of Attraction for Real Estate Investors." He enjoyed working with the other REIN groups across the country that he jumped on the chance to make a difference in the BC REIN Group. Attracting what you want (rather than what you don`t want) when it comes to JV partners, properties and tenants is the theme and Members across the country are already seeing the difference this has made for them. In addition, Don will be diving into the latest research on the BC & Alberta real estate markets in "What`s Behind The Curtain."
