Why is it, that I can own multiple properties in a city, but I can only vote for the town mayor of the town I live in? I wish I had more say, seems how I do pay taxes in the places I invest! It is fustrating that they can vote on new complexes (hockey rink/swimming pools) and I have no say as far as voting power but this will impact my taxes huge! Is their a way around this? Other than going to town meetings and raising my opinion but when it comes down to it, I can not evern vote.

You could move to the town in question. Or mention in passing to your tenants that the proposed measures will increase your taxes by a large amount, and that increase will cause larger-than-usual rent raises next year, and that they may want to vote accordingly. You could also campaign in that area, or donate funds to candidates that better support your point of view.
