Canada`s job market has been fairly soft in 2013`the national unemployment rate still hovers above 7 per cent. It`s even more difficult for young people, where unemployment is nearly double at 14.1 per cent. But as is the case with most job seekers, young people may want to consider a move to Alberta.
Over the last three years, Alberta has added some 6,500 jobs for people aged 15 to 24. That`s a small fraction of the 209,000 total new jobs for Albertans in all age categories, but it is a big improvement over the situation for youth employment elsewhere. Only two other provinces`Saskatchewan and Newfoundland and Labrador`managed to add jobs for youth at all. The other seven provinces saw losses.

On Monday, council will receive a report on several innovative housing options identified to deal with an expected looming vacancy crunch, the extent of which has not been determined.

Do I miss the ocean and coastal mountains, the tulips in February, running the Stanley Park Seawall after work or skiing at Cypress Mountain on a Friday night?
