Does anybody know how to find out details about owner of a parcel of land in the city ?? I have information from planning department that a small parcel of land is zoned c-2 .There is no development here so its hard to get additional details .
Any info would be great .How to proceed from here.

What city? Larger cities will have internal mapping systems showing property details. In Alberta, there is also the SPIN2 system.

Hey Matt .Its in Kitchener ,on. From the mapping details from city site the only info available is zoning and if any current building permits. It has no info on how to get to land owner

If you know the legal description you can pay the land title office for a title search.

Aside from what Tina mentioned, you can always ask help from your friend realtor or mortgage broker. They have access to a 'system' about the owner's information, property details, mortgage/s on the property, tax, sales history, even previous MLS listings of the property, etc. Can you imagine that?

Well it's vacant land ;).I don't think it ever came in MLS .

Maybe there is. Even if it is vacant, there must be property information/history somewhere. There's no harm in trying if you are that interested to find out. Of course, a title search will serve your purpose as well. Your call really. Just sharing.........

Yes ,I do agree ..long shot but doesn't harm .Next resource to go to land registry office

Most zoning info is online. Most water / sewer / electricity info is available by cities too. Beyond that the current owner may have plans for subdivision.
