I just signed a mortgage with RBC for Prime -0.65.

The judgement is the first step in the right direction. It establishes accountability. Now we just need that judgement in Ontario.

Well, it`s something I`m definitely considering for the roof of the addition on our duplex. There`s quite a learning curve unless you`re willing to just lay out a pile of cash for a company to handle everything for you. I`m looking at this...

So, I`m thinking that if that house has the old style hydro meter with the wheel that turns, it`s spinning pretty good. What I`d do, some afternoon when I`ve got some time, is go to the breaker box, turn off a breaker, check the wheel to see if it`s slowed noticably. If not, flip the breaker...

Sounds like a brilliant idea to me.

Water meters are located inside the premises, so it`s unlikely that he`s stealing water from you. More probably a dripping tap or slow leak somewhere.

I checked it out from the library. There was quite a waiting list. Guess I`m not the only cheap one out there. I liked it though.

I was talking to a RBC mortgage fellow tonight and he mentioned that they`ve lowered their variable rates. Checked their webpage and sure enough, they`re down from prime plus 1 to prime plus 0.6. Could it be the world is starting to flip back right-side-up again? Then I went to BMO`s site...

Sorry to get away from Sask. but I`m wondering about St. John`s. The oil there is offshore and there`s not a lot of local refineries. It`s in the ship, just as easy to ship the crude anywhere. I had this problem before with RBC. I went in and pointed it out to them. Reluctantly, they lowered the amount deducted and refunded some of the excess, but they still wanted a pretty fair margin over what was required. You can always just pay the tax bill yourself. w
